Time to let those jolly Chapman wassailers in! Tickets on sale now for holiday concert

November 28, 2011

Happily, at Chapman's Wassail no one has to carry a steaming punch bowl through the streets.

One of Orange County’s oldest and most beloved holiday traditions — Chapman University’s annual WASSAIL, now in its 48th year — is starting a NEW tradition this year!  In previous years you needed to purchase the banquet preceding the concert in order to attend the glorious holiday concert that followed.  Graciously served to you by Chapman choir students while talented student carolers serenade the tables, the WASSAIL banquet is a sumptuous feast that will kick off your holiday season in grand style.

This year, for the first time, you can either purchase the banquet plus concert for an all-inclusive price of $65 or the concert alone ($20 general, $15 senior citizens and non-Chapman students — or $10 for Chapman faculty, staff and students with valid Chapman ID).  The banquet will be held Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, in the Wallace All Faiths Chapel, Fish Interfaith Center, with check-in and the reception beginning at 6 p.m. both nights.  If you’re attending JUST the concert, it will be at 8 p.m. both nights in Memorial Hall. Rush tickets will be available to Chapman students only for $5 beginning at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall, one per student, with valid Chapman ID.

The grand concert will include beautiful Christmas carols and other seasonal music by the University Choir and University Singers, Stephen Coker, music director and conductor, University Women’s Choir, Angel Vázquez-Ramos, conductor, and the Chapman University Chamber Orchestra, Daniel Alfred Wachs, music director and conductor. For tickets, call 714-997-6812 or visit www.chapman.edu/copa.
