Film alumnus’ success picks up speed with “Drive”

September 13, 2011

James Smith (MFA/Film Prod. ’01) was a co-producer for the feature film Drive, starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan and opening in theaters this Friday, Sept 16. See the trailer here. This is Smith’s first major credit on a feature film.

The film is based on James Sallis’ 2005 crime novel about a stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver for high-end heists. It’s already earning early critical success with a handful of preliminary reviews. To read more about the film, visit the Dodge College Blog.
