The Alley Cats to close free Friday concerts!
Enjoy a serenading sendoff to summer this Friday when The Alley Cats, “America’s Premier Doo-Wop Group,” presents Chapman University’s final summer concert at 5:30 p.m. on the Wells Fargo Stage in the open air of Attallah Piazza.
The a cappella group’s renditions of timeless doo-wop classics and their zany banter make them a fan favorite in the university’s Free Family Friendly Summer Concert. The Alley Cats bring the same level of contagious and uplifting energy to every show, whether entertaining the president at the White House, or “edutaining” students in their nationally recognized arts education program.
The Alley Cats have also recorded six albums, which showcase their rich harmonies as well as the energy and humor from their live shows. Their album Cruisin‘ won a CARA (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award) for “Best Doo-Wop Song” with Tears on My Pillow.
As always, picnics, lawn chairs and blankets (but no grills!) are welcome in the piazza, and free parking will be available in the Lastinger Parking Structure. The campus opens for picnicking at 4:30 p.m., and the concert kicks off at 5:30 p.m.
