SoundCheck sings its way to semifinals

March 15, 2011

SoundCheck, an a cappella group of Chapman University students, has advanced to the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella semifinals, after winning first place at the regional quarterfinals held Saturday at Cal State Northridge.

The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 26 at the University of Southern California. The winning group from that competition will go on to compete at the International Finals in New York City.

SoundCheck also won awards for Outstanding Arrangement and Outstanding Soloist.

The group was started in spring 2007 by three freshmen. Since then, it has grown into a popular, award-winning performing group on campus, as well as in the surrounding community.

    SoundCheck Chapman University Students,

Congratulations on your deserving win at the regional quarterfinals. I have only been at Chapman for 8 short months and I am amazed at what Chapman students can achieve.

You are all very gifted and should relish in your win.

You have been blessed with a wonderful talent.

    Respectfully,
