Robbie wins OC Human Relations Council award
Sandra Robbie
Sandra Robbie, a development associate in the College of Educational Studies, has been selected by the Orange County Human Relations Council to receive one of its awards at the council’s upcoming “Awards 40: Building Bridges of Understanding” program.
Robbie will be receiving the Civil Rights History Award for her exemplary contributions to human relations and making positive changes that effect Orange County residents. This is one of only 10 awards given out by the council each year. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the award program. Sandra will be recognized at the special event on Thursday, May 5, at the Grove of Anaheim.
Robbie won an Emmy Award for her documentary “Mendez vs. Westminster: For All the Children/Para Todos Los Ninos,” which chronicles the story of the historic Mendez vs. Westminster decision, which desegregated California schools in 1947.

It’s wonderful to see your efforts being realized. This was a historic and landmark case in Orange County that set the stage for meaningful national change in race relations. BRAVO!
