Movie scenes stack up, brick by brick

January 6, 2011

Yes, that's Charlie Chaplin in "Modern Times," reprised in Legos by Chapman student Alex Eylar. (Photo reprinted with permission.)

Everyone loves Legos, but Chapman University film student Alex Eylar really loves Legos and his whimsical handiwork with the colorful plastic bricks earned him a splash in the The New York Times’ T Magazine website.

Eylar, who’s earning a master’s degree in screenwriting at Dodge College, uses Legos to recreate famous movie moments, ranging from American Beauty to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He posts photos of his little montages on his Flickr site. Check them out.
