Turkeys take the cake

The folks in Financial Services are extra thankful today for their student worker, Laura Shigeoka. Just for fun the junior accounting and finance major whipped up little turkey cakes on sticks. We just wanted to gobble them up, but we know some of you hunger for the secret of the teensy cakes. Shigeoka breaks up a baked cake and mixes it with just enough frosting to make a kind of cakey modeling dough, shapes up some little gobblers, dips them in chocolate, decorates with gum paste feathers, chocolate-dipped blueberry heads and assorted sprinkles for all the other necessary turkey bits and – voila! – it’s turkey time.
