October 29, 2010

Rebekah Munson, one of the residential advisers planning Diversity & Equity Week, gets ready for Diversity Beads Interactive Craft Night on Monday at 6 p.m. in Henley Basement.

The folks at Student & Campus Life have organized an extraordinary roster of events open to the entire Chapman University community for Diversity & Equity Week, Nov. 1-5, including a poetry night, film screenings, panel discussions, guest lectures, a Diwali celebration, a beading craft party, a frozen-yogurt fundraiser and a conference at Fish Interfaith Center titled “Building an Inclusive Church.”

Among the week’s many highlights are “Poetry Raw: Night of Spoken Word” from 8 to 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, in Argyros Forum Lounge, and the Diwali Indian Festival of Lights celebration at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in Wallace All Faiths Chapel. The Diwali celebration will include entertainment, amazing performances, and a lot of free Indian food.
