Seriously — get your tickets to see humorist, author David Sedaris

David Sedaris will sign his latest book, "Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk," at Chapman appearance.

Tickets to the Oct. 27 “An Evening with David Sedaris,” the first event in the re-established Distinguished Writers Series at Chapman University, are still available. Students can get the ultimate deal – a $10 ticket – by showing their current Chapman University Student ID in person at the Chapman Auditorium box office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All other tickets are $40.

Sedaris is the author of several books and unforgettable essays heard on NPR, including the legendary piece about his stint as a holiday elf at Macy’s. Sedaris’ pieces appear regularly in The New Yorker and have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.” His newest book, a collection of fables titled Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary (with illustrations by Ian Falconer), was just released. The humorist will read his work and answer questions beginning at 8 p.m. Oct. 27 and stay for a book signing to follow at 9:30 p.m.
