Campus Confidential

September 17, 2010

  • First up is a shout out to a blog we’ve just discovered called Just Spotted. With candy-colored graphics, lists and calendars, this newcomer to the county is a cheery little spot to find fun stuff around Orange County. Of course we love that they include Chapman events, like the retro and very cool Black and White Film Series. But we also like Just Spotted’s wide-ranging blogroll and its “made in OC” feature. Be sure to peruse their list of award-winning blogs, which includes, I Heart Old Towne Orange, another Happenings favorite.
  • Speaking of spiffy sites to visit, take a look at the new Schmid College website that launched this week. The redesign includes the three new schools — School of Computational Sciences, School of Health & Life Sciences and the School of Earth & Environmental Sciences – and a beautiful slide show. Kudos to Matt Miller, Meghan Farrington and Mandy Thomas in Creative Services for all the good work.
  • Another enhancement has been made to the MyWindow program. Now you will be automatically logged into MyWindow just by logging into your campus computer. (Off campus requires the multiple log in process for access.) On campus, though, no need to re-log-in constantly, as was happening before. Yeah!
  • All the details for the Oct. 2 Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony & Banquet are now posted at the athletics website. Should be fun. The banquet wraps up in time to take in the Chapman vs. Pomona-Pitzer Colleges football game.
  • Happy Anniversary to Dodge College faculty members Joan Gladstone and Ed Gillow. They celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary Sept. 7. Gladstone is assistant professor of public relations and advertising and Gillow is an adjunct faculty member.
